Hot off the heels of the do-it-all Schitt Jotunheim headphone amplifier, preamp and DAC/phono preamp combo unit, news from Schiit Audio is that three new products serving traditional audio needs will soon be released…

Saga – $349 Remote Passive/Active Preamp (due October 2016)

  • Passive or tube hybrid buffer operation (user selectable)
  • Tube hybrid buffer uses 6SN7 tube and 200V rails
  • Relay switched stepped attenuator (64 steps)
  • 5 single-ended inputs, 2 single-ended outputs
  • Full remote control

Freya – $699 Balanced Remote Passive/Active Preamp (due October 2016)

  • Passive, JFET buffer, or tube gain operation (user selectable)
  • Tube gain stage uses (4) 6SN7 tubes and 300V rail
  • Relay switched stepped attenuator (128 steps)
  • 2 balanced & 3 single-ended inputs, balanced and single-ended outputs
  • Full remote control

Vidar – $699 Intelligent Stereo/Mono Power Amplifier (due 1Q 2017)

  • 100W RMS per channel into 8 ohms (stereo), 400W RMS into 8 ohms (mono)
  • 200W RMS per channel into 4 ohms (stereo)
  • Current-feedback gain stage with dual mono topology back to the transformer
  • No capacitors or DC servos in signal path, no switching supplies, no class D
  • Microprocessor-controlled operational point management and protection
