DEDICATION (STEVEN MERCURIO, CZECH NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA) [DIGITAL DOWNLOADS]
Maestro Steven Mercurio and the Grammy-Award winning Czech National Symphony Orchestra join The Audiophile Society once more for their latest recording, “Dedication.” We begin with a variation of Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.” The exquisite execution of this piece is a dedication to the orchestra’s ability to create a unique and captivating experience for the listener.
We are then guided to Dvorak’s “Serenade For Strings.” Carrying the ability to envelop the listener during both intimate solos and breathtaking ensembles alike, this piece is suited and dedicated to this orchestra’s musical background and heritage. Found next is Barber’s masterpiece “Adagio For Strings.” Frequently used as a dedication to mark the passing of tragedies, this piece pierces through the listener’s emotions with its sorrowful, yet peaceful tones. This timeless recording is followed by “Eulogy,” a piece composed by Mercurio himself. This melancholic finale is the final touch to a brilliant program.
The Audiophile Society's Mega Dimensional Sound™ enhances the already dream-like soundscape, leading you down a beautiful journey throughout every second of the album. As Mercurio remarks in the album’s dedication, “From the angelic harp to the human voice-like qualities of multiple violins and cellos, an orchestral ensemble composed of strings will bend and waver, shimmer and cry, carrying the listener on a journey of sustained or breathless melodic beauty.”
"The music was captured by the sound engineering in a dense, transparent and very natural way: The sound image is outstanding."
